Linking Tradition
and progress...

The Burns Club was formed in 1924.  It was initiated to foster the culture and heritage of Scotland.  In those early days the works of Famous Scottish poet Robert Burns were read by the members at 'Burns Evenings'.

Our Club has since prospered and grown so that our members now enjoy Club facilities second to none.

The Burns club celebrated it's Diamond Anniversary in 1999 and is the oldest licensed club in Canberra.

The Burns Club offers a complete range of entertainment for everyone.  This extends to a family bistro and weekly events for the kids to Friday night dancing for the young at heart, or you may simply enjoy a quiet drink with friends after work from our extensive bar facilities or play some of the latest gaming machines available.

The Burns Club can also boast having one of the largest ranges of scotch whisky's in Canberra, as well as a variety of intra-mural groups as diverse as Scottish Country dancing, internationally ranked pipe bands, Scottish Heritage and Interest Groups to soccer, golf and fishing.  It is also affiliated to clubs throughout the world.

Our multi purpose function room accommodates up to 500 patrons and is the venue for bingo, meat raffles, fully catered functions, seminars, sing-a-longs, dances and bands.  The club also has a new main bar, a boutique bar/coffee shop, full TAB facilities, EFTPOS, FOX Sport and SKY Channel.

As you can see, the range of activities at the club is extensive.  Open 7 days a week 'till late, the Burns Club really does offer something at all ages and tastes.  So come in and take advantage of all the Burns Club can offer you.
