Tuggeranong Dog Training Club
Tuggeranong Dog Training Club (TDTC) commenced operation in February 1995 to address the need within the community to provide obedience training for dogs. Obedience training is used not only to train a dog to walk nicely on lead, but also provides instruction to handlers on how their dog may take its place as a member of the community.
TDTC provides a graduated training program which allows dogs and their owners to progress at their own speed. Levels of training comprise: Beginners (dogs with no training); Intermediate, Advanced and Novice. On successful competition of the Advanced class, owners are awarded the "Obedience Trained Dog" Certificate which reduces the cost of ACT Government registration.
Other activities conducted by the club include: Agility, Flyball, a demonstration team, which participates in local fetes to promote the club and its activities; and pets as Therapy, where dogs and their owners visit local nursing homes and bring joy to our senior citizens.
Obedience training is currently offered on Thursdays at 10:00am and Sundays from 9:00am and are conducted at the grounds club on Athllon Drive & Rowland Rees Crescent Greenway (Entry off Rowland Rees Crescent). Bookings are essential and may be made by calling the club.
